Edit Qualifications Catalogue - Create Qualification (OOQA)
Purpose
Use this procedure to create qualifications within the Qualifications Catalogue. The qualifications can then be assigned to personnel records and used in reporting and analysis.
Trigger
Perform this procedure when:
•  You are setting up your system for the first time.
•  You want to record qualifications, skills or competency data for an employee and find that the qualification does not exist in your catalogue.
Prerequisites
•  You have set up appropriate Qualification Groups in your catalogue.
Reference To create qualification groups, refer to procedure Edit Qualifications Group -Create Qualifications Groups.
Navigation Path
Use the following navigation path to begin this transaction:
•  Select Processes è Human Resources è Qualifications & Appraisals è Qualifications è Edit Qualifications Catalogue to go to the Catalog: Change Qualification(s) screen.
Field Description Tables
The R/O/C column of each Field Description table indicates whether the field usage is:
R - Required in SAP.
O - Optional in SAP.
C - Conditional in SAP.
Procedure
1. Start the transaction using the navigation path.

2. Double click on Edit Qualifications Catalogue to go to the Catalog: Change Qualification(s) screen.

Caution The period displayed to the right of Catalog represents the period you are editing. This date is set as default, but can be changed if required. In the example above, the key date is set to 01.01.1900, with an end date of 31.12.9999. By modifying the key date, you control the Qualifications that are displayed and the default start date for any new Qualifications created.
3. Click Imageto the left of the Qualification Group for which you want to create a qualification.
4. Click Image to go to the Create window.

5. Click once on Qualification to highlight it.
6. Click Image to go to the Create Qualification window.

7. As required, complete the following fields:
Qualification
Valid from
to
Description
Qualification group
Scale
 
Note You can see the Proficiencies associated with the Qualification by clicking the Proficiencies tab.
Note You can set up Qualifications to depreciate over time by entering values under the Addit. Data tab.
8. Click Image to save your entries.
Note The system displays the message "EnterData saved".
9. Click Image to close the window and go to the Catalog: Change Qualification(s) screen.

Note The Qualification Group now has at least one qualification assigned to it, as indicated by the Image icon.
10. Click Image to expand the group for which you created the new qualification. See example below.

Note The qualification you created is displayed.
11. To create further qualifications, repeat Steps 3 to 9 above.
12. Click Go Back to go to the SAP Easy Access Main Menu screen.
13. You have completed this transaction.
Result
You have created a qualification that can be assigned to an employee using the Maintain Employee Details transaction.
