The type of asset you are creating. Asset classes correspond to asset balance sheet line items in the general ledger.
Example: 3000 (for Office Equipment)

The Company code which owns the asset.
Example: 0001

If you are creating several assets of the same type, for example 10 photocopier machines, the system will create them all at once. However certain fields which are unique to the individual asset, such as serial number, will need to be maintained on each record.

You can create an asset with reference to another asset, and many of the values will default in.
